The Role of Women in The Church
July 19, 2024The 21 Ecumenical Councils of the Catholic Church
July 19, 2024The Church declares those ancients Fathers who exhibited a holy life and sound doctrine. The Early Church Fathers
refuted heresy, established orthodox beliefs, spread the faith, and served as martyrs, missionaries, monastics, and
mystics. The Fathers assembled the Scriptures, wrote the Creed, upheld tradition, and established canon law, and
church doctrine. Multicultural, they came from Asia Minor, Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa.
When former Protestant clerics who converted to Catholicism are asked what led them, they answer that they
studied the Early Church Fathers. As Cardinal John Henry Newman, a former Anglican priest, said: “to go deep in
Church History is to cease to be Protestant.” What is it that makes the Fathers so compelling? Come and see what they
believed and taught.
